The function of CCTV in the TIAA MRT System is to provide Operational Control Center CCR and SOR staffs the access to surveillance of each station and depot along the system lines. When the CCTV equipment or circuit in Operational Control Center CCR malfunctions, the CCTV in each station can still operate independently and monitor station areas via surveillance cameras.
In the SOR of each station, one set of CCTV, six 10.4-inch LCD monitors and one 19-inch LCD monitor are installed. The SOR controllers can program video display functions via the video matrix switch and remote graphic control software to transmit video signals to display on the designated monitor.
Both Chingpu and Luzhu Depots are equipped with one set of independent CCTV matrix switcher workstation. For Chingpu Depot, 23 sets of cameras, including four outdoor full-featured cameras, are installed for safety surveillance covering the entire depot and its surroundings. On the other hand, for Luzhu Depot, 19 sets of cameras, including five outdoor full-featured cameras, are installed.
In addition, station platform images are transmitted to the driver's cab via wireless transmitters. When the train pulls over at the platform, the platform transmitter transmits images to the EMU which is received by the wireless receiver installed on the EMU. Then, the image signals are then displayed on the 10.4-inch monitors on the driver's operation panel for the driver to ensure passenger safety during the stop.
