The public art designs of TIAA MRT System were chosen eight stations to set up nine art pieces. Subsequent to the "Swaying Freely" art piece in LinKou Station (A9) introduced in the last volume, we are proud to present the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station (A8) art piece-"Imprint of the Galaxy Railway".
Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station is a major transfer hub for Linkou District and its adjacent cities. Like galaxy railways in the universe, the city's busy traffic transports passengers day after day. Based on this concept, Hu's artistic team exclusively invited Paramodel art unit from Japan to design this public art piece for the station. Additionally, children from Yong Fu Elementary School, Wen Hsing Elementary School and Chang Gung Children's Hospital were invited to participate in this art creation workshop with the Japanese artists. With guidance of the Paramodel team and using imagination as their mutual language, the children designed galaxy railway routes with toy rail sets. Paramodel handpicked many of the children's designs, added a few professional touches and the final image of a galaxy railway journey was imprinted on the 2nd floor concourse wall of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station. Passing through the grey zone of the concourse will be like entering a future fantasy allowing your imagination to extend infinitely. This piece of art is also a symbol of a more convenient and rapid transportation in the district after the opening of HSR which will be like space traveling through cities by galaxy railroads.
