On Aug. 30, 2016, Executive Yuan Minister of Public Construction Commission (PCC) Hong-Mo Wu led members from PCC to inspect the implementation status of the TIAA MRT Project. The party onsite inspected simulation practices, dispatch operations and preparatory operations. BOHSR Director General Hsiang-Lin Hu led relevant supervisors from the bureau and MRT Engineering Office to receive the guests. Deputy Mayor Chien-Hua Yu of Taoyuan City Government, General Manager Kai-Ling Chen of Taoyuan Metro Corp. and General Manager Deng-Ke Hsiao of Taoyuan Airport Corp. also attended the event.
During the visit, the party was first assembled at TRA Taipei Main Station East Gate 3 and was guided by Director General Hu via the passageway on the first base floor to TIAA MRT Taipei Main Station (A1) to experience the convenient transfer route between the two systems. Afterwards, staff from Taoyuan Metro briefed on the station's architecture and characteristics and introduced the facilities inside the station building. On the other hand, staff from Taoyuan Airport introduced operations regarding in-town check-in services and the bag drop equipment and Minister of PCC Wu personally operated the bag drop equipment that was introduced into Taiwan for the first time. Following, the party went on to the third base platform floor and took the express train to Airport Terminal 2 Station (A13). After arriving at Airport Terminal 2 Station, Taoyuan Airport staff guided the party and elaborated on the passenger route in Airport Terminal 2 Station after official opening of the TIAA MRT system. The party also observed the baggage transportation equipment along the platform to interpret on the operations of the baggage transporting cabinets transferred from Taipei Main Station to this station.
Then, the party rode the commuter train to Linghang Station (A17) to visit the nearby Chingpu Depot Operational Control Center. Subsequent to the briefing by Division Director Le-Chiun Tsao of MRT Engineering Office, Minister of PCC Wu and other attendees discussed on the matters. They carried on to HSR Taoyuan Station (A18) via the EMU in which Director General Hu introduced the planning and setting of seamless connection between HSR and TIAA MRT systems and also the development situation of the surrounding commercial/manufacturing park of HSR Taoyuan Station. Finally, the party rode the EMU to Huanbei Station (A21) and went back to Taipei Main Station.
