At the same time the ceremonial lights were lit, symbolizing the official opening of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Museum after the 10th anniversary of the HSR. After the completion of the ceremony, photos with the honorable guests were taken, which was also a historic commemorative image for the 10th Anniversary of Taiwan High Speed Rail and the Opening Ceremony of Taiwan High Speed Rail Museum.
In Premier Lin and Minister Ho chen’s speech, they both affirmed that the high-quality of HSR is the common pride of the Taiwan people and appreciated THSRC and BOHSR all related personnel of their efforts over the years. Moreover, Premier Lin indicated that the important historical significance of HSR is through BOT to guide civil and government cooperation. With the government exerting public power and credit advantages, coupled with the unique flexibility of private enterprises, HSR can finally operate and turn around Taiwan's economy and transportation. On the other hand, Minister Hochen mentioned that HSR has begun preparations 27 years ago, started construction 18 years ago and officially opened 10 years ago. So far, it not only led to land and industrial activation, but also promoted exchanges across the Taiwan. In addition, his efforts in respecting and supporting ecological conservation and striking a balance between transport and environmental conservation are also evident. At last, Premier Lin and Minister Hochen both anticipated that HSR shall stand on the basis of the success of the past, continue to narrow the distance between the various regions of Taiwan, and achieve to transform HSR into a mass rapid transit system.
After the opening ceremony, the guests were invited into the museum and were guided by Museum Director Wu. Premier Lin was led into the 1: 1 ratio cockpit model to personally experience HSR driving operations. The event ended successfully at 15:30 pm.
