The TIAA MRT System is on the verge of official operation and the maintenance of the railway, rolling stuck, signaling, power supply and communications facilities would affect the reliability and stability performance of its operation. In the initial stage of system operation within the contractor’s warranty, it is important for Taoyuan Metro to address how to gradually establish the capability of self-directed and localized maintenance technology and the supply chain of spare parts.
On Jan. 20, 2017, BOHSR and Taoyuan Metro especially held the “TIAA MRT System Maintenance and Localization of Business Opportunities Seminar” in the TIAA OCC where Director General Hsiang-Lin Hu of BOHSR and President Kuen-Yi Liu of Taoyuan Metro gave the opening speeches. The following guests, Director Lao -Chun Tsao of MRT Engineering Office, Assistant President De-Fa Cheng of Taipei Rapid Transit, Director Chun-Yi Wang of Taoyuan Metro and Factory Manager Chun-De Lee of Taoyuan Metro were invited to respectively brief on “Introduction of the TIAA MRT System Design and Functionality”, “Experience Sharing of the Localization of Taipei MRT System Maintenance Operation”, “Facing the Obstacles of Self-direction and Localization of TIAA MRT Maintenance” and “Maintenance Technology, Manpower and Backup Supply of the TIAA MRT Signaling System”. In addition, the event took participants to visit the OCC, MRT cabin and main depot in Taoyuan Metro and gathered more than 80 domestic railway organizations and related business parties to take part in the heated discussions.
Through the communication platform, participants were benefited greatly from each other’s expertise, experience sharing and information sharing. It is expected that via this event, we have gained valuable opinions and experiences for the localization of TIAA MRT maintenance. The seminar was successfully concluded after enthusiastic participation and active discussion.
