Due to the steep slope of the staircase in the upper bank of the riverside bridge at the upstream area of Zhongxing Bridge in Sanchong District, New Taipei City and the cycling track is not yet set up, causing extreme inconvenience to the people trying to access the riverside bridge and the high riverbank by bicycle. In consequence, High Riverbank Construction Management Office (HRCMO) planned to set up a cycling track under the TIAA MRT to connect Zhongxing Bridge and the riverside park, linking the urban area and the facilities of the river bank to facilitate the use of nearby residents and cyclists.
To implement the project, HRCMO has submitted the application form, land usage project proposal and the construction & management proposal to BOHSR to apply for 10 lots of TIAA MRT land including Lot 1517-1 in Chengkung Section, Sanchong District with a total of 329.19 square meters. As this project is within the scope of the construction of the building restriction area, technical units of BOHSR has evaluated the project and determined that the potential impact on MRT facilities is acceptable and will not directly endanger the facilities and operational safety of the TIAA MRT. MOTC also reviewed the matter concluding with agreement in principle. Additionally, it is in line with Article 7 of the “Principle of Providing Government Public Property For Free Use” so BOHSR agreed to provide free use and signed a land use agreement in January 2016.
Subsequently, HRCMO will manage the land in accordance with the contract and the land usage project proposal and construction & management proposal that has been evaluated and approved. HRCMO will also be responsible for the construction, use and maintenance management of the facilities, maintain the quality and safety of the facilities and maintain the integrity of the land.
