To understand the implementation of the budget of the TIAA MRT Project, the Finance Committee of Legislative Yuan especially arrived at the TIAA MRT site on Apr. 6, 2017 for inspection. The inspection party first rode the TIAA MRT from Taipei Main Station (A1) to Airport Terminal 2 Station (A13) and back to personally experience the system and operational condition. Then, they listened to the briefing on budget execution of the TIAA MRT Project.
The members of the Legislative Yuan who attended the meeting included Ming-Tsai Lo, Su-Mei Chen Lai, Yi-Fang Shih, Li-Chan Lin, etc. On that day, the inspectors were received by Administrative Deputy Minister of MOTC, Wen-Chung Chi, leading Department of Accounting and Department of Railways and Highways, with Chief Engineer Wei-Li Chung of BOHSR leading relevant staffs. Deputy Minister Ruei-Min Chen of Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan, Deputy Auditor-General Sheng-Yao Lin of National Audit Office, General Manager Kai-Ling Chen of Taoyuan Metro Corp. and President and CEO Deng-ke Shiau of Taoyuan Airport Corp. also attended the event.
Under the company of Deputy Minister Wen-Chung Chi, legislators personally experienced the operational condition of the TIAA MRT System. With the brief introduction by staff of Taoyuan Metro Corp. and Taoyuan Airport Corp., the guests experienced the interactive public works of art such as “Windows & Mirrors” in Taipei Main Station (A1). They also learned of the operating status of the in-town check-in process, flight information display system and self-check-in and baggage handling equipment. Under the guidance of Taoyuan Metro Corp., the legislators got on the express train at the third base floor of Taipei Station to see the space and interior design of the train cabin and went on to Airport Terminal 2 Station (A13). After the arrival of the train, BOHSR briefed on the implementation of the TIAA MRT budget and accepted consultation.
During the inspection, the legislators expressed their affirmation of the smooth process of the train and were impressed by the implementation status of the TIAA MRT. They also hoped that future domestic and international passengers will be proud of our airport transshipment. The party finally took the TIAA MRT train to return to Taipei Main Station (A1), successfully concluding the inspection trip.
