The BOHSR 2017 Environmental Assessment on TIAA MRT Zhongli Extension Line CM01 Section Tender was ratified and initiated on Feb. 20, 2017. The project included one assessment per half of year and the assessments have been completed on May 10 and Oct.13 respectively.
This environmental protection work is mainly based on the provisions of Article 17 of the Environmental Impact Evaluation Act: “The developer shall effectively implement it according to the contents of the environmental impact statement and the contents of the assessment and the conclusions of the review.” In order to confirm whether the constructors are in accordance with the relevant environmental protection laws and regulations, the conclusions and commitments of the EIA review and the handling of environmental protection measures of the relevant construction sites, the evaluation methods are both documentation inspection and onsite inspection. The evaluation key points mainly include the implementation situation of environmental assessment and environmental difference commitment, the circumstances of environmental monitoring during construction and the handling of civil cases and the implementation of site environmental protection work. The environmental protection work has always been characterized by the creation of a win-win environment friendly community and immediate reaction to resident needs, which have been affirmed by the local people.
As verified by BOHSR’s two assessments this year, the contractor has implemented various environmental protection measures stipulated in the EIA commitment and environmental protection laws and regulations, and has not received environmental tickets. Environmental protection, energy conservation, carbon reduction and green building actions are all being further promoted, which is worth encouraging. These environmental achievements can be used as a lesson for future projects to be a part of environmental protection.
